In the metro, on my way to work, I felt inspired. While looking outside from the window, I felt as if nature and the whole creation spoke to me.

I always get mesmerized by the beauty of creation. From the birds in the sky, the sky itself, the people wandering around, the trees dancing with the wind, the leaves falling off the trees. But this time was different.

When I was a little girl, I always wanted to see God. I wanted to look Him in the eyes, if you know what I mean. It’s like you hear about something or someone your entire life, but you have never seen them personally. So you become with time more eager to know them personally. This is exactly how I felt growing up. I wanted to know my creator. I wanted to thank Him for everything. And of course, I had lots of questions. When I wrote this poem that day, I realize that I already met God. He already made Himself seen to my eyes and my heart.

I feel that this poem was God’s way of telling me, nice to meet you Marilisa, this is me. I am opening your eyes, so you can truly see Me and welcome Me in your life.

I saw God,

I saw His creation,

I Saw His personality,

I saw His purpose,

Not just for me, but for His whole creation.

I saw God,

I saw how much He loves,

I saw how much He cares,

I saw how much He gives,

I saw how compassionate He is.

He does this all, He gives this much, and all He asks in return is for us to show Him the same love. He asks us to love Him and His creation. He asks us to be devoted to Him. Is He asking too much compared to all He gave and is giving? I don’t think so!

I saw God, and therefore can’t unsee Him anymore.

I saw God, and therefore will I always remember: All He is, all He does!

I saw God and that brought me Light, Hope, and more Love.
